This year's Ig Nobel Awards have been announced, and the winner is Dr. Elena Bodnar of Hinsdale, Illinois. She wins it for patenting a bra that, in an emergency, can be converted into a pair of gas masks, one for the owner and one for a needy bystander. Ig Nobels, popularly known as the Igs, are a cheeky spoof on Nobel awards, awarded to scientific discoveries with a dash of humour in them.
